In my recent post about all my fave summer beauty products, I included a red lipstick by CoverGirl called Hot Passion. Here’s how I’ve been wearing it lately. This was from 4th of July, but any summer evening is really perfect for this! This flaming red has a touch of orange that makes it perfect year round but especially appropriate for summer. I definitely plan on wearing this lippy for the holidays as well!

Get the look!
EYES
(I do my eyeshadow and liner first but save mascara and brows for the end!)
Step 1. Apply primer to your lids ( I used MAC Painterly Paint Pot)
Step 2. Apply Foxy and W.O.S from the Basics palette all over lid and up into brow bone
Step 3. Apply a mixture of Naked2 and Faint from the Basics palette in your crease to warm up the eye and give some depth while still looking really natural. Then apply some of your bronzer and blend that into your crease.
Step 4. Use the Venus shade as a highlight and apply it to your brow bone and in the inner corners of your eyes
Step 5. Apply your liner on top lids only. For this look I used my fave eyeliner ever, Stila liquid eyeliner. Wing it out if you like that look…I certainly do! I promise I will post all about winged liner and tips soon!!!
FACE
Step 6: Apply your foundation or tinted moisturizer very sparingly. Because this is a fresh summer look I like my natural skin to show through so I apply just a bit to cover imperfections.
Step 7: Apply concealer.
Step 8: Apply your bronzer with a big fluffy brush! I used Smashbox Bronze Lights in Suntan Matte (this bronzer and Tarte Park Avenue Princess are my faves!). I suggest using a bronzer with no shimmer, like this one, so you can apply it all over your face and neck. If you use one with shimmer, just use sparingly on your cheek bones.
Step 9: Highlighter! For this look I used Charlotte Ronson A Summer’s Kiss Face & Body Glow. This golden shimmer is perfect for a summer look because it enhances your bronzer and the liquid formula leaves your face glowy…just use sparingly. I apply all liquid highlighters with the Sigma F86 Tapered Kabuki brush. I apply a small bead of it on my hand, dab the end of the brush in the product and lightly dab it on my cheekbones and down the center of my nose. Use sparingly or else you will be way to shimmery!
Step 10: Mascara and eye brows. I like to save these two steps for last. Apply several coats of black mascara (I used Revlon Lash Potion). I filled in my brows lightly with NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in Blonde.
LIPS
Step 11: Those red lips! For this look I lined my lips and then filled them in with CoverGirl liner in Passion. (I’m not a huge fan of lip liner but I’ve found it’s pretty important when wearing red lips…it keeps the lipstick from bleeding and it also makes it last longer.)Then I applied CoverGirl Hot Passion lipstick on top (note…sometimes this lipstick is called Hot, other times it’s labelled Hot Passion…it’s the same color!). Blot with a tissue and you are set! At the 4th of July party I went to I had each girl at the party try this lipstick on and it looked smoking hot on everyone!! And it’s cheap! You can’t beat it.
